Artistic director, owner & founder of Dance Extreme

Rebecca Brettingham-Filice is a visionary entrepreneur and dedicated dance professional, making significant contributions to the dance community since the inception of Dance Extreme in 1997. She has played a pivotal role in shaping the dance experiences of over 30,000  individuals who have passed through the studio's doors. 


Rebecca's influence extends beyond her own ventures, as she served as a Facilitator and Instructor with Make Your Mark from 2017 to 2022. Additionally, she has played a crucial role  as the Founder and Board Member of Dance Safe Ontario, exemplifying her commitment to the safety and well-being of dancers within the community. In January 2023, Rebecca ventured into new territory as the Co-owner of Mindful Dancers, a  testament to her innovative spirit and dedication to promoting holistic well-being through  dance. Her passion for sharing knowledge and empowering others is further evidenced by her active  involvement in various prestigious events, including presentations at the Dancelife Teacher Conference, Toronto Dance Teacher Expo, Dance Masters of America National Convention, Dance Masters of Canada Regional Chapter, Dance Masters of Ohio Regional Chapter, Dance  Business Owner Summit, and more. 


Recognized for her expertise in dance business management, Rebecca has become a sought after speaker, sharing her insights and experiences with fellow studio owners. Her dynamic  presentations reflect her genuine desire to contribute to the growth and success of others in  the dance industry. 


As she eagerly anticipates the upcoming Dancelife Teachers Conference, Rebecca looks forward to both sharing her wealth of knowledge and learning from her peers. Her entrepreneurial journey, marked by resilience, creativity, and a commitment to community, continues to inspire and elevate the world of dance.

Sarah Sadoni

Co-Owner of The Dream Centre

Sarah is an inspiring, compassionate and successful dance educator and business woman who has been an instrumental part of arts education in her community.

 

As a young dancer she trained at the prestigious Quinte Ballet School.  She is an Honours graduate, obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Sarah is the Co-Owner of The Dream Centre and the Director of the Live Dream Dance recreational and competitive programming within the facility.

 

Sarah has grown her dance studio from 50 students in two small rooms to a 20,000 sq/ft indoor sports facility with classes in dance, gymnastics, martial arts, musical theatre, adult fitness, before and after school care, and post partum programs for Moms.

 

Her successful business model now services thousands and employs nearly 30 faculty members. Before taking on the role of business owner, Sarah’s performing arts career led her to some incredible opportunities to dance and perform in shows such as: Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Beauty and the Beast and Cats to name a few.

 

Sarah is also an accomplished pianist, as well as, a singer who was a lead singer for a Jazz Big Band that travelled throughout North America. As a dance educator, Sarah’s students train hard and achieve immense success. Sarah’s elite competition dance team has won numerous accolades such as: National and International Solo Titles, Top Scoring Group Routines, Top Choreography, Top Studio Awards, as well as, several gold, silver and bronze medals at The Dance World Cup in both Spain and Portugal and World Tap Championships in Germany.
Sarah’s most current project is a content author for the LEAP dance platform, Live Dream Dance which is a recreational dance curriculum available to dance educators around the globe.

Shauna Donovan

Teacher

Shauna started dancing at the age of 14, and after finding her love for the art she went on the receive her BA in dance at the University of Waterloo.  

 

Shauna has been teaching dance across the GTA for over 30 years and is a certified member of the Performing Arts Educators of Canada in Ballet, Jazz and Modern.

 

As a former studio owner, Shauna has instructed hundreds of dancers over the years, many of whom have gone on to careers as professional dancers, dance teachers and studio owners. She has also received many choreography awards for her work with competitive pieces.  Her passion for dance manifests itself in every class.
